COMMON QUESTIONS
1. Is this event only for Scottish Rite Masons?
No, it is open to all Masons and their friends and family.
2. I don't have a kilt, do I need one?
No, but what a great chance to get one!
3. Is this a formal event?
While we do not call it a formal event suites, tux or 'fancy dress' seem to be the attire of the evening.
4. Will alcohol be served?
You get a bunch of Scots together and you ask that question!
Seriously, yes. Single Malt Scotch will be served for the toast. This will not be the 16 year old stuff, unless you bring it but remember you have to share! We will limit the amount to about 3-4 oz. per person.
This is primarily because of 3 reasons.
1. We are purchasing this out of our pocket and the cost of it is not covered by your meal.
2. We need enough to go around for all and if we have an unlimited about available it will run dry, we are Scots you know!
3. With as many cops and former cops that will be around we don't want them to have to do paperwork on you for a DUI arrest.
5. What will be served for dinner?
The menu has not be set but I can assure you haggis will be available and NO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO EAT IT...unless you want to. (That leaves more for the REAL SCOTS)
6. What about the possibility of cancellation or postponement because of weather?
In Dallas that is always a question. This site will carry the OFFICIAL notice of postponement because of weather. I can update this site on a minutes notice with a computer handy. If there are any questions as to the weather I will post notices (they will be at the top of the page) beginning 3-4 days before the dinner. While I love this event your safety is always a concern.
